Abstract

Career management is an important field in human resource management. Our research on career advancement opportunities in the organization is based on the individuals employed in all administrations of Tbilisi districts. The total number of respondents was 308 (50% of the employees). The anonymous survey was conducted based on the questionnaire, which included 69 questions and 234 answers option. As a result of the survey, the data was processed in the SPSS program. To test the hypothesis, we used frequency analysis, chi-square test, Kruskal-Wallis test and correlation analysis. The purpose of the paper is to research the issue that allows us to identify respondents' career advancement opportunities and key barriers, elimination of which will improve the overall condition and the climate of the organization and will also increase the performance of each employee. The hypothesis formulated in the paper allows us to identify the variables that affect career advancement opportunities. In particular: 1. Do the respondents have an individual career development plan? 2. Do the respondents' skills and interests match the career they have chosen? 3. Does the organization assess respondents' skills and competencies? 4. How comfortable do respondents feel working with a direct supervisor? 5. Do respondents know exactly what type of training they need to eliminate their weaknesses? As a result of the data analysis, we recommend administrations of Tbilisi districts to take into account the recommendations offered by us and establish a structural unit that will identify and evaluate capabilities, skills and competencies of each individual, that will help to create a development plan for each employee. Which leads us to a sense of fairness and objectivity in the organization. The result is an effective organization staffed with loyal employees.
