Ergonomics in Agriculture: The Reality of Georgia

ABSTRACT
Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the Georgian economy, employing a significant part of the country's population. Nevertheless, work processes in agriculture are often associated with heavy physical exertion, unergonomic working conditions and various health risks. These problems are especially relevant in small family farms, where a large part of the work is still done manually and modern technologies are used to a limited extent.
The purpose of the presented research article is to assess the importance of ergonomics in agriculture and analyze the reality of Georgia in the context of international experience. The study is based on a literature review, analysis of existing statistical data and assessment of working conditions in the agricultural sector. Several hypotheses have been formulated within the framework of the study, which relate to the impact of ergonomic principles on labor productivity, workers' health and occupational safety.
The results of the study show that the introduction of ergonomic approaches significantly reduces physical exertion, reduces the risk of occupational injuries and health problems, and increases the efficiency of the work process. Analysis of international practice indicates that in developed countries, modern technologies, automated systems and ergonomic tools are actively used in agriculture, which contributes to the improvement of working conditions and increased productivity.
In the case of Georgia, the agricultural sector still faces many challenges, including the low level of technological development, limited financial resources and lack of awareness of farmers about ergonomic principles. Accordingly, the study emphasizes the importance of ergonomics in agriculture and indicates the necessary directions that will contribute to the improvement of working conditions, increased labor safety and sustainable development of the agricultural sector in Georgia.
