Abstract: Attitudes toward the role of women and the existing stereotypes in the country significantly influence discrimination within organizations. Research on this form of discrimination remains relevant in many countries, including Georgia, because societal stereotypes dictate that a woman's primary role is still centered around family and child-rearing. "Today, gender differences are evident in Georgia, shaped by culture and the family itself.” Discrimination against women in the workplace remains to be a significant challenge in many countries.
The current study was carried out inside the ministries of economic profile and included 720 respondents. The data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical software package, employing cross-tabulation, chi-square tests, and one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA) during the research process. To validate the hypotheses, we applied the paired comparison T-test, which compares the mean scores of two continuous variables and assesses their statistical relationship.
Within the framework of the research, we formulated the following hypotheses:
Hypothesis 1: There are different views on the forms of discrimination in the organization from a gender perspective;
Hypothesis 2: Georgian stereotypes have a significant impact on the forms of discrimination in the labor market;
Hypothesis 3.1: Support for career development by the supervisor and being considered a valuable member of the organization are characterized by different tendencies among female and male respondents;
Hypothesis 3.2: The more career development is supported by the supervisor, the more the employee considers himself a valuable member of the organization (according to gender);
Hypothesis 4.1: Views on forms of support for a colleague who is a victim of discrimination differ between female and male respondents;
Hypothesis 4.2: Different age groups express support for a colleague who is a victim of discrimination in different ways;
Hypothesis 4.3: Marital status has a significant impact on support for a colleague who is a victim of discrimination.
The study's findings and recommendations will contribute significantly to the prevention of the problem.
